EqualLogic Host Integration Tools (HIT) is a suite of host-side utilities from EqualLogic that integrates EqualLogic PS Series iSCSI storage with Windows, Linux, and VMware environments. It streamlines provisioning and daily management, strengthens data protection with application-consistent snapshots and replication, and improves performance and availability through intelligent multipathing and connection management.
Key capabilities include application-aware snapshot and restore for Microsoft platforms via VSS (including Exchange, SQL Server, and Hyper-V), VMware vSphere integration for VM- and datastore-level protection and cloning, Linux utilities for iSCSI and multipath configuration, automated scheduling of snapshots, clones, and replication, and device-specific modules that provide load balancing and seamless path failover.
